Some jobs require little or no skills. They are often taken for granted. One of such jobs is real estate agency. Many, including school dropouts, and sometimes, those without the basic primary education dabble into this. They are everywhere. With a small blackboard, placed in front of their houses or friends’ shops, they list all manner of houses and landed properties for rent and for sale. And the business starts.
While some of them are faring well, others have had to resort to fraudulent means to forge ahead. But experts say such dubious people do not go far.
A United States-based real estate broker, Mr. Eric Bramlett, wonders why there are only a handful of successful realtors in the world, with many people thinking about getting into real estate.
He says, “I feel, however, that the inherent nature of the business, and how different it is from traditional careers, makes it difficult for the average person to successfully make the transition into the real estate business.
“As a broker, I see many new agents make their way into my office - for an interview, and sometimes to begin their careers. New real estate agents bring a lot of great qualities to the table - lots of energy and ambition, but they also make a lot of common mistakes.”
