Oyo: Factional leader accuses Alao-Akala of causing PDP crisis
Governor, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala
LEADER of a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State, Senator Lekan Balogun, on Thursday accused the state Governor, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, and his aides of being the sponsors of the crisis in the state chapter of the party
Balogun said this while reacting to a statement credited to Alao-Akala’s Special Adviser on Public Communications, Mr. Dotun Oyelade, that the issues involved in the party crisis had been resolved.
Faulting Balogun’s earlier seven-day ultimatum to the national leaders of the party to resolve the crisis in the state chapter, Oyelade had described the ultimatum as empty threats since the faction had issued four similar threats in the past without any repercussion.
But in a statement made available to our correspondent in Ibadan, the state capital, on Thursday by his Special Assistant (Media), Mr. Olakunle Oladapo, Balogun said that Oyelade’s statement once again partly demonstrated that the crisis persisted due to the penchant of the governor’s aide and his principal to tell lies and deliberately misinterpret facts of the crisis to mislead the public.
He said, “It is utterly false that the issues involved have been resolved. Rather, they have frustrated every effort to resolve it - a reflection of their undemocratic disposition and self-centeredness,” he said.
