UNN, World Bank partner to improve technical education

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State, Prof. Bartho Okolo, on Wednesday said the institution would continue to collaborate with relevant professional bodies within and outside the country to improve on the study of technical vocational education and training in Africa.

Declaring open a two-day major stakeholders’ interactive forum on the initiative of the Centre for Technical Vocational Education Training and Research at the Enugu campus of the UNN, Okolo explained that the forum was part of activities for the implementation of the Step B World Bank-assisted CETVETAR project.

  The VC, who was represented by the UNN’s Deputy Vice - Chancellor, Academics, Prof. Isaac Asusu, noted that the increasing lack of employable skills among graduates of various levels in the educational system led to the enormous emphasis placed on technical vocational education and training by the Federal Government and international donor agencies.
