MAHLE raises alarm over products faking

SON DG

MAHLE, Perfect Circle (PC) manufacturer has raised alarm over the faking of its products in the market, and called on  Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) to battle it.
Roland Olympio, Export Sales Manager of Soeximex, importer of MAHLE products in Nigeria, said:  “We trust in government / SON to help fight the influx of fake and counterfeit MAHLE products in the market particularly those coming in from Asia and Europe, which is not from France, original manufacturer of the MAHLE products.”
Olympio noted that SON has been very effective in some aspects of the market, but prayed that it should look towards the faking of MAHLE products, especially the piston and ring sector of the motor parts market.
He also stated that by next year the company would be looking forward to partnering and fine turning ways to work with SON to stem the tide in faking / counterfeiting of MAHLE products en-route to Nigeria.
On what the company requires from SON, he said that the company wants a situation where it help stem the influx of fake products, as well, help control the importation of faked MAHLE products.
He went further to say that the seminar will enable end users know the differences between the fake and the originals of MAHLE products, even now that  it has re-packaged the products to beat faking/counterfeiting.
