Widow of the late Provost of the Ekiti State College of Education, Mrs. Rachael Olowoyo, has alleged that the institution’s management was frustrating the payment of her husband’s entitlements many months after his demise.
The late provost, Dr. Gabriel Olowoyo, died in road accident in January, 2010 on Lokoja – Abuja highway, when he was held captive by a gang of kidnappers.
The widow who spoke with journalists in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, specifically alleged that the Acting provost, Dr. Titilayo Ogunmola, was frustrating her attempts to collect her husband’s entitlements.
She described the non-payment of her husband’s allowances as “a ploy to punish members of the family for no just reason.”
However, Ogunmola denied the allegation, attributing the development to lack of funds. He assured that everything was being done to ensure speedy payment of the entitlements.
He explained that her late predecessor served the college to the best of his ability before his untimely death, hence he did not deserve any ill treatment from anybody.
