President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed Prof. Oladapo Afolabi as the new head of the Federal Civil Service.
The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Ima Niboro, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, said the new head of service would be sworn in on Thursday.
Afolabi was the permanent secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education. He replaces Steve Oronsaye, whose tenure ends today (Tuesday).
In another statement, the Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, in the office of the Head of the Civil Service, Tope Ajakaiye, stated that three new permanent secretaries had been appointed and five redeployed.
According to him, three newly appointed permanent secretaries are Nkechi M. Ejele, posted to the office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation; Abdulkadir A. Musa, Federal Civil Service Commission; and Taiye Haruna, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (Special Duties).
