Outrage in England as Russia picks 2018 World Cup host

 FIFA boss
Despite a formidable front of England’s three ‘Lions’ in David Beckham, Prince Williams and Prime Minister, David Cameron as well as some other notable names like Sebastine Coe, John Barnes and Andy Cole, the England Bid for the 2018 World Cup suffered a major blow with FIFA 22-man Executive Committee giving it to fellow Europeans, Russia.

Moments after the FIFA president, Joseph Sepp Blatter unveiled the envelop to announce Russia as the winner, outrage began to pour out from frustrated and angered English fans who visited the Skysports website to react to the decision.
Some blamed the loss to the billion dollars offer from oil and gas which their rivals used to persuade a FIFA Executive most English men now see as corrupt officials while most others blamed the BBC Panorama and Sunday  Times expose on FIFA as the bane of England.
A Tottenham fan, Tom Symonds wrote that “The billions of dollars from oil and natural gas were most persuasive to FIFA. Forget everything else…heritage, fans, stadiums, infrastructure…none of it mattered.”
Another fan,  Chris Farran of Accrington Stanley sarcastically put it this way, “Isn’t it funny how the two countries with the deepest pockets funded by oil have both won the 2018 and 2022 bids even though they can hardly host their own leagues, never mind the World Cup!! Shocking bribery no doubt.”
One Newcastle fan, Kirsty Rush joined in calling FIFA a corrupt body when he wrote that “FIFA has just proved Panaroma right on how corrupt they are…. England’s bid was the best for the whole world, not just the rich of Russia or Qatar.”
Some other fans blamed both the Sunday Times and the BBC Panorama for the failure, adding that by denying England the right to host the 2018 World Cup, FIFA has truly shown that it a corrupt organisation.
According to Paul Fitz, a Tranmere Rovers fan, “No SURPRISE, we shot ourselves in the foot again,  courtesy of The Sunday Times and Panorama, plus FIFA don`t like the English and they are CORRUPT, (emphasis his).
Pete Knight. a Leeds United fan believes that “the only ones to blame for England’s bid being lost and it’s the BBC” while  Dean Toth, a Newcastle United fan says, “How obvious! A country that has never held the World Cup, where football is growing and their league is getting better and better prevails over ourselves. When will we learn you can’t go angering FIFA officials and then expect them to do you a favour.”
Manchester United fan, George Middleton was livid with anger, cursing FIFA saying “FIFA  hates England, we had the best bid, England is the home of football and (has) the biggest and best league in the world. 2018 should have been England’s.”
For another Manchester United fan, Anwar Alnouri, it was “Shocking, sad, gutted and most of all disappointing. I really believed that we would be hosting it and truly believe we deserve it more than any of the other candidates. I don’t know how Russia won ahead of England as clearly we have the better stadiums with better facilities.”
