We must consult before naming Eagles coach – Onigbinde

Adegboye Onigbinde
FIFA technical committee member, Adegboye Onigbinde, has stated the need for wide range consultations before appointing a coach for the Super Eagles.

Speaking in a telephone interview with our correspondent on Sunday, Onigbinde said Nigerian soccer would profit immensely if the right coach is appointed.

According to Onigbinde, who has been named on the committee to interview Samson Siasia and Stephen Keshi for the job, only the best coach is good for Nigeria.

He said records, backgrounds, technical ability and attitude would play crucial factors in the selection of a new coach for the Eagles.

Onigbinde however assured that the best would be selected for the job.

The former Eagles coach said Nigeria could have a strong national team made up of players selected from the domestic league.

The tactician said a home-based crop of players should form the nucleus of the national team with some foreign players being invited to fortify the team during competitions.
