Tanker lost control after its brake failed on Sunday in Lagos State and damaged five vehicles. However, no life was lost.
Past accidents involving tankers in Ibafo, Long Bridge, Third Mainland Bridge and Badagry area led to destruction of properties and loss of lives.
Sunday’s accident, according to witnesses, occurred when the driver of the tanker, belonging to AP-Seriki Petroleum Nigeria Nigeria Ltd; was attempting to negotiate a roundabout at Costain in Iganmu area of the state.
The tanker with the registration number, ST 470 SMK subsequently rammed into a mechanic workshop in the area and damaged the cars.
An eyewitness told News Agency of Nigeria that the tanker was empty and that might have reduced the extent of damage.
