Eagles climb one step in FIFA rankings

Nigeria moved one step up in the FIFA world rankings in the month of November. World Cup holders,  Spain maintain its lead with Holland and Brazil fill up the positions behind.
Nations Cup 2010 champions Egypt returned to the top ten. With Ghana and Cote’d Ivoire maintaining their various positions from last month’s ranking. Nigeria is perched at 33 taking Algeria’s position. The biggest mover was Gabon, they moved two places from 39 to 37 displacing Cameroon.
South Africa moved into the world’s top 50 for the first time since 2006 and Botswana’s sensational start to qualifying for the Nations Cup has seen them leap 12 places to 67th in the world and 13th in Africa.
Togo, who are in the same qualifying group as Botswana and have had a very difficult competition so far, dropped 20 places to 107th in the world – their worst position since 1996.
The United States leads the CONCACAF region at No. 24, four places ahead of Mexico. Egypt moved one place to No. 10 despite not playing, because Russia fell to No. 13.
Australia climbed one to No. 20 and leads the Asian nations. France fell three to No. 21. World Cup bidder Qatar dropped four places to No. 113.
