PASSING through the exams of the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is not an easy feat. Those who came out successfully should be congratulated and celebrated.
Recently, new members emerged and the biggest congratulatory message came from the director, sub Saharan Africa, ACCA, Mr Jamil Ampomah.
He was speaking at the Celebration of Members event, put together by the Nigeria office of ACCA to celebrate its new members and also award individuals and firms, which have supported the organisation’s growth in the country.
To attain ACCA membership, individuals must have fulfilled the requirement of garnering three years working experience in a reputable institution after successfully passing the ACCA exams.
Speaking to the new members, Ampomah said: “To become an ACCA Member is a landmark moment. And it means that you’ve worked really hard to get to where you are today. You should be proud of yourselves. To become a Member is a major milestone in your careers and it’s a gateway to a whole host of opportunities. Our accountants are in demand globally and you have made a very good choice by becoming ACCA students and then Members. I believe you can work for any organisation that suits you in any country around the world. You can also fast-track your career towards management.”
