Gbenga Daniel
More governors on Tuesday distanced themselves from Saturday’s declaration of Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, as the chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum.
In separate comments, the governors of Lagos and Ekiti states, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), and Dr. Kayode Fayemi respectively, described the emergence of Daniel as undemocratic. They added that it was an attempt by Peoples Democratic Party governors to usurp the NGF.
Also on Tuesday, the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties and the Campaign for Democracy described the NGF as an illegality. Governors are expected to meet in Abuja on Wednesday (today) to elect a new chairman.
