Funke Moore
She’s one of the ‘tube’ girls at the Lagos State Television. She agrees that television has brought her to the limelight. Funke Moore tells TUMININU OGUNSAKIN the story of her professional life and what motivates her.
Funke Moore, a television presenter with the Lagos Television, LTV, obtained her first degree at the Lagos State University and her Masters from the University of Lagos. “To be an effective presenter,” she says, “I went on to study journalism at Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos. This is because I‘m very much in love with broadcasting.”
Moore recalls her love for broadcasting right from childhood. “My childhood dream became a reality when the LTV gave me a job as a TV presenter. It‘s what gives me genuine fulfillment,” she enthuses.
What motivated her to become a television presenter, she says, “is that, right from my childhood, I had always wanted to be a journalist. I had this burning desire for broadcasting; the desire to transform news and information into what will interest the average viewer. Then, one of my role models was a friend of my cousin who worked in Radio Nigeria. Listening to her read the news or perform other duties like making announcement and such like created a hunger for broadcasting in me. Since then, I started nursing a passion for the profession.”
