There are indications that some displeased leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party from the South-West may decamp into the Action Congress of Nigeria.
Our correspondent gathered that some members of the party, who are not happy with the development within the party in Osun, Oyo and Ogun states, have opened channels of communication with the leadership of the ACN with a view to joining the party.
The leaders of the PDP from the zone, it was further learnt, are opposed to the desire of the governors from the three states to impose their candidates on the party in the general election.
It will be recalled that the PDP had lost in Ondo and Ekiti States, where governors ”elected” on the platform of the party were removed by the Courts of Appeal sitting in Benin and Ilorin respectively.
In Osun State, it was learnt that the leaders of the party were not happy with the determination of the state governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, to impose the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, Sen. Iyiola Omisore, as the party‘s governorship candidate.
