Gomes: Bale is good enough to play for Brazil

Gareth Bale collected the match ball after netting a hat-trick against Inter Milan

Gomes, who has one of the understudies to Julio Cesar in the Brazil squad at the World Cup finals in South Africa, even suggested that the Wales international plays like a Brazilian.
Bale's career has been transformed since Harry Redknapp deployed him as a left-winger. He had not started a single Premier League game last season until thrown into the team against Hull City on January 16 and has not looked back since.
Once talked about as a misfit and a player likely to be offloaded by Redknapp, Bale is now being linked with the biggest clubs in the world.
"Gareth looks a bit Brazilian the way he plays," Gomes was quoted as saying in the Sun. "I think he could get in the Brazil national team, he is playing so well.
"Gareth is on fire. His three goals against Inter were unbelievable and if he had got his hat-trick a little bit sooner, think we would have got a fourth."
Bale, meanwhile, is trying to ignore the hype, saying: "I try not to take too much notice of all the attention. I try to keep my feet on the ground and learn during training and games. The manager has given me the chance to play and in training we have worked on things.
"I'm fitting more of what I have learned into games. That's the most important thing - to keep playing week in, week out, because that's where you learn your most football ... in games. The manager has given me the belief to go out and express myself. That's the best thing any manager can do."
Redknapp said of his hat-trick against Inter: "He'll look back on that, surely, in years to come - and what an achievement,'' said Redknapp, who hopes the 21-year-old recovers from his amazing exploits in time for tomorrow's Premier League game with Everton.
"He's tired, the kid. He had a couple of tough games for Wales and then, obviously, Saturday (against) Fulham, Wednesday night in the San Siro. He's nearly empty but, hopefully, there's still a little bit of petrol in there.
While Bale may play against Everton, others will be rested, with the likes of Rafael van der Vaart, Sandro and Wilson Palacios ready to relieve them.
"I will look to freshen it up a little bit tomorrow, with one or two changes,'' Redknapp said. "We have got some players who are desperate to play: the boy Sandro, Wilson Palacios; they're top players and they're available. Rafa's back again tomorrow.''
Redknapp was philosophical about the 12.45pm kick-off, saying: "It could've been worse; it could've been away. We've got no excuses. We're playing a good team tomorrow. They had a little dodgy start; they've had a dodgy start last couple of years but, every year, David pulls them up.
"They end up either getting into Europe or pushing for European places. He's built a very difficult team to beat. They'll be up there again at the end of the year.''
