Odigie set to join Siasia

Samson Siasia

Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia is said to be pressurising the Nigeria Football Federation to name former Bayelsa United coach, Monday Odigie, as one of his assistants.

Odigie first worked with Siasia at the 2005 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in the Netherlands, along with Dutchman Simon Kalika, who has now been confirmed as Siasia‘s number two man.

”Siasia wants Odigie to join his backroom staff. He has made this known to the NFF technical committee as well as some board members,” a source told MTNFootball.com

”Both Siasia and Kalika see him as a ‘super trainer‘ who has been known to put players like Mikel Obi on their toes.”

Odigie failed to help Nigeria qualify for next year‘s African Junior Championship in Rwanda after his team were eliminated by DR Congo.

He led Bayelsa United to win the Nigeria Premier League title two seasons ago.
