Chukwu backs NFA on Galadima

Former Super Eagles coach Christian Chukwu has said that NFA’s decision to nominate Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima to contest for the seat vacated by disgraced FIFA Committee member Amos Adamu at next year’s CAF elections is a welcomed one.
Adamu, who is currently serving a 3_year suspension, Friday expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision of the NFA, stating that he has appealed the FIFA Ethic committee rulings and expects to be exonerated.
However, Chukwu, a member of the 1980 Nations Cup winning squad said the reason for the NFA decision was as a result of the vacuum created by Adamu’s suspension in CAF, stressing that it would be dangerous if they do not nominate a candidate that will represent the country as he hailed Galadima for being the people’s choice following his clean record.
“The reason why NFA took the decision was because they do not want to take chances and if Adamu does not succeed in the appeal what happens? Since the seat is vacant, somebody should occupy the space.
“He has been the NFA chairman, and they see him as somebody that is capable on the job. And I see him as a clean, sincere and honest man, and for them to have chosen him, he must have passed through EFCC screening, so he is fit to represent the country,” Chukwu said.
