Ekiti police arrest 14 NURTW members

Ekiti State Police Command

The Ekiti State Police Command on Monday arrested some members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, who were allegedly holding a meeting on how to launch attacks at various motor parks across the state and cause a serious mayhem in the process.

The Police team was led by the Commander of the State Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Mr. Okoronkwo Ogbonna, a Superintendent of Police, on the instruction of the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kakwe Christopher Katso.

Our Correspondent gathered that the policemen swooped on the NURTW members at Ekute Area of Ado-Ekiti and arrested Opeyemi Sanni alias Jambara; Kehinde Joseph alias Olumbo; Dele Akinyede alias actor; Adefarise Kazeem; Folamise Wale; Fatai Bamiyo Mashal and Deji Daramola, among others.

They were allegedly being sponsored by Toyin Oloyin, Taju Hassan and Akeem Olajide who were said to have been expelled from the union by the national body of NURTW.
